From one little porch
to a whole lot of heart.
Sometimes, the best things begin with a simple invitation:
come over, let's dance.
A little movement.
A lot of connection.
Line & Wine was born in the aftermath of COVID-19, when so many people felt disconnected and had lost some of the joy and social connections in their everyday lives.
Michelle Schmidt decided to bring a little happiness back. With just six people dancing on her porch, she started a small line dancing company with a wonderfully simple idea: have some fun, get a little exercise, and enjoy each other's company.
What began on that porch has grown into a flourishing community with branches across Cape Town and KwaZulu-Natal. In 2023, Alison Jamieson joined Line & Wine as a partner, running the company alongside Michelle. Together, they have welcomed more dancers, expanded into new locations, and strengthened the friendships that make Line & Wine so special.
